If you haven’t heard already, I’m obsessed with Fall. It’s my favorite season, and if Fall lasted all year, I think I would be the happiest human alive. I’m disappointed that I don’t get to experience the changing of the seasons here in Florida; in fact, we don’t really get what’s commonly known as “Fall”. We get more of a “Chilly Summer”, or a “Mild Winter”. And while the Northerners make fun of us for wearing scarves in 60 degree weather, I take full pride in bundling up whenever I can! In fact, when dreaming up some fall sewing projects, I realized that all I really want is sweaters. The Fall essential I look forward to the most is a simple pullover sweater.
Make ALL The Sweaters!
You can’t go wrong with a quick & easy sweater pattern. Although I haven’t attempted it yet, Astoria is on my list for making a variety of pullovers.
Sweater Dresses Are Nice, Too
I’ve been wanting a sweater tent dress for the past few years, and when Seamwork dropped their latest pattern on me, I was shook! Imagine how adorable this would look with a pair of Chelsea boots and the chunkiest cable-knit scarf you can find.
Annnnnnnd a special mention goes to my favorite knit dress pattern…
Who would I be if I didn’t mention the only knit pattern I can recommend with 100% confidence, because it’s also the only one I’ve actually tried! And it’s so versatile that you can use it to make a sweater or a sweater dress.
What are your Fall sewing plans? I hope you’re more open-minded than I am. But then again, there’s nothing wrong with staying in your comfort zone!
