It’s interesting how our taste changes as we get older. Mine has been all over the place! In the 8th grade, I was convinced that the best brand in the whole world was Southpole. In high school, I thought it was completely unfair that my parents wouldn’t buy me a whole new wardrobe from Urban Outfitters.😔 Over the course of maybe a year, I went from abhorring sandals to panicking if I didn’t have a new pair for the summer. But one thing that has stayed the same in general is my love of vintage clothing. And even that has evolved, too. Just a few short years ago, I wanted bold retro prints to make my closet super colorful. While I’m still drawn to vibrant patterns, I’ve found that my taste is veering toward more subtle prints and solid colors. I’ve been looking for more ways to wear more vintage outfits without looking like a pinup girl. Thankfully, Pinterest and Instagram have shown me that it is possible to have a vintage aesthetic that’s practical for modern, everyday life.
I’ve never been a huge fan of pants, but I’m liking a lot of loose trousers lately.
And even though denim was never high on my list of favorite fabrics, denim skirts and dresses are my new jam for a 70s look.
Of course, even with my taste evolving, there’s still plenty of room in my closet for a good ol’ fashioned, full-skirted dress with apples all over it!
How has your taste changed recently? Unfortunately, my closet and my wallet can’t keep up with change!
